Bootcamp IT – what is it?

The word „bootcamp” itself comes from the English language. Means a type of outdoor training derived from the methodology of American trainers.

In programming, by this definition, there are two key ingredients: training and trainers. Bootcamp IT is nothing more than intensive training related to programming. Its characteristic feature is the care of a coach-mentor who watches over the performance of tasks and offers help when any difficulties arise.

The training usually takes place online, which means that the bootcamp can be attended by new mothers on maternity leave, people with disabilities who have problems leaving the house or people who travel a lot – whether because of passion or commitments. And, of course, no one forbids anyone to sit with a laptop outdoors – so that the tradition of the word „bootcamp” is served!

How long does a programming bootcamp last?

Bootcamps may concern various areas of programming: from creating websites, through specializing in a selected programming language, to the skills of an application tester. Depending on the topic of the bootcamp, the course may be shorter or longer. Usually, however, it is in the range of several months, because another characteristic of bootcamps is their intensity. When signing up for this type of training, you must be ready for express learning. However, the point is not that the bootcamp outlines the general outline of the field, but that it guarantees the acquisition of skills and enables entering a new career path.

For example, at Future Collars Polska, the Automatic Tester bootcamp lasts 12 weeks, the Java programming bootcamp – Java Developer, 25 weeks, and the WordPress bootcamp.
