Freelancing and being a freelancer are terms that are increasingly encountered in the job market. Many people are leaving permanent employment in favor of running their own business or working on a contract for services or a contract for work, sacrificing job stability for the influence on managing their own time and the ability to decide on the projects they undertake. IT is an example of an industry where freelancing is developing very quickly.

The prospect of earning (in the range of several thousand zlotys per month) depending on the number of projects being conducted, the ability to find a client and the demand for certain skills on the market also encourages working on one’s own.

In IT, services related to programming, computer graphics, and website creation are the most popular. It is not difficult to find individual, minor orders from these areas – on the internet, it is easy to find many Polish and foreign portals dedicated to freelancing, publishing advertisements from those looking for work and wanting to commission it. Freelancers can apply for more complex and demanding projects to one of the companies specializing in „freelancers” or to companies that offer „freelance projects”. In these cases, it is necessary to present a CV and portfolio, and sometimes to take part in an interview or test.

This means that the demand for people with up-to-date knowledge and skills is also increasing. Freelancers, who are responsible for their own professional development and have the ability to adapt to changing market conditions, are in a good position to take advantage of these opportunities. Freelancing allows you to choose projects that are interesting and allow you to develop your skills and knowledge, which is why it is increasingly popular among IT professionals.
